A fine Black Basalt Teapot c.1805-1815. The body decorated with moulded classical figures within a panel with columns containing moulded oak leaf decoration. Swan finial to the lid. Attributed to Barker.
A teapot of similar shape to this teapot with the same handle and spout but in Pearlware, is illustrated on p.173 of 'A Directory of British Teapots.'

Condition: Shallow chip to the side of the handle and the rim. Some smaller chips to the interior rim of the teapot.
