A rare Davenport Bone China Vase c.1806-1810. Exceptionally well painted with an arrangement of flowers to the front and fruit to the reverse by Thomas Steel. Solidly gilded rustic branch handles. Marked 'Longport' in red to the base.
A similar shape base is illustrated by Lockett & Godden in Davenport, China, Earthenware & Glass - Plate XXVI page 152.
Condition: Both handles have been broken and restuck. Some signs of glue and re-gilding to the handles. Some wear to the gilding around the rim.
