A Mexborough Yorkshire Pottery Cottage Money Box of 'Prattware' type c.1810-1820. Pearlware, naively modeled as a cottage with heads looking out of the two top windows while male and female figures are standing at the side of the building. The bank is typically decorated in underglaze 'Pratt' type colours. Money boxes such as these were given to Children as an incentive to save money in true Yorkshire tradition. This piece is unmarked.
Condition: Some age relalated chips to the front and back as shown.
