Dimensions:
A rare H & R Daniel Porcelain Porter Mug c.1830-1840. Very finely decorated with named views in panels which are titled on the base. Rich claret ground and gilding. The front of the mug is decorated with a view of Virgina Water, Windsor. The back of the mug is decorated with of Rhaiadyr Du Tan y Bwlch, Merionethshire. Taken from an engraving by Samuel Lacey 1818-1857. The side of the mug is decorated with an oval panel of a bird in a landscape, surrounded by a cartouche of raised and finely tooled gilding.
No Daniel mark or pattern number but a Loving Cup with this same distinctive handle is illustrated in the Daniel Ceramic Circle Journal Number 45
Condition: Crack to the side and the base of the mug but still a very rare piece indeed
