Dimensions:
A 'Farmer's Arms' English pearlware jug made in Staffordshire c.1810-1820. It is decorated on both sides with a black transfer decoration with red & yellow overglaze enamels and a band of leaves around just below the rim.
The banner on the front reads: '' TRUST IN GOD, THE HUSBAND MANS DILIGENCE PROVIDES BREAD'' along with images of a Farmer his Wife, sheaves of wheat and various farm tools.
The banner on the reverse reads: “INDUSTRY PRODUCETH WEALTH” along with images including a bee hive, sheaves of wheat and farm tools.
Condition: A few minor hairline cracks and chips to the spout
