A large Spode porcelain vase c.1820 of flared shape, beaded above a gilt relief moulded base and foot all on a circular plinth. The high loop handles with ram's head terminals and the flared and pierced neck detailed in a gilt leaf design. The vase is very well painted to one side with a basket filled with bright garden flowers, to the other with a colourful bouquet along with Butterflies & a Ladybird on a cafe au lait ground. Marked Spode in black to the base. See Leonard Whiter's 'Spode' Plate 214 for a vase of this shape.

Condition: Old restoration to an area of the pierced rim and a hairline crack around the lower section of the vase
