A Fine British Porcelain Vase c.1815-1820. Of Paris shape with elegant Swan handles picked out in gold, the cylindrical neck gilded and pierced with basketwork, the rim applied with a band of stiff acanthus leaves, the body painted in the manner of William Pollard with flowers and fruits along with dog roses, primroses, heather, speedwell and wild strawberries.

This vase shares many features with ornamental porcelains made at Swansea. The shape is inspired by French porcelain, the rim is applied with stiff leaves and the painting style is clearly influenced by the work of David Evans and William Pollard. However, no Swansea vase of this form appears to be recorded.

Condition: Minor restoration to the swan beaks
