About Us

Following a distinguished career as a consultant specialising in Local Government finance, Jonathan Purt chose to devote himself full time to his lifelong passion for English porcelain. He established Fine Antique English Porcelain to offer collectors carefully curated pieces of exceptional quality, artistic excellence, and historical importance.

Jonathan specialises in late eighteenth and early nineteenth-century English porcelain, with a particular appreciation for works displaying the finest period enamelling and decoration. His expertise encompasses the work of many of England’s most celebrated porcelain painters, including William Billingsley, Thomas Baxter, Humphrey Chamberlain, William 'Quaker' Pegg, and Thomas Steel.

His collection focuses on porcelain from the leading English manufactories of the Georgian and Regency periods, including Flight & Barr Worcester, Chamberlain’s Worcester, Derby, Spode, Coalport, and Minton. Every piece is selected for its beauty, rarity, condition, and provenance, with particular emphasis on exceptional hand-painted decoration by the foremost artists of the period.

Committed to scholarship, authenticity, and connoisseurship, Jonathan seeks to present collectors with porcelain that embodies the highest standards of English ceramic artistry, combining aesthetic appeal with historical significance.
