A rare pair of Barr Flight and Barr Worcester porcelain 'Music' Candlesticks c.1800. Of cylindrical shape, the sconces with flared rims, raised up on canted octagonal bases, one painted with a ruin besides a bridge and the other painted with a church next to a river, framed within a thick gold rectangular panel reserved on a salmon pink ground gilt with panels of vermiculi and Greek key pattern. The reverses very unusually decorated with ornate neoclassical gilding including a vase on a raised plinth.
Incised B to the underside of each and painted script marks in red.
Condition: The candlestick with the painted the painted ruin is in perfect condition apart from some wear to the gilding. The candlestick with the view of a Church has some professional restoration to a broken out section of the base and sconce.
