A rare Samuel Alcock porcelain covered sugar box c.1830. This rare shape of covered sugar box is seldomly found. Both the lid and the base have a moulded flower shape with petals on the outer section and a stamens to the centre. The lid has 'melting snow' type moulding to the underneath of the large flat knop, which is peculiar to Samuel Alcock. Simlply decorated in overglaze enamels with sprigs of flowers and gilding.
Condition: A small amount of wear to the gilding in places. No damage or restoration.
