A superb Flight & Barr Worcester porcelain Chocolate Cup & Stand c.1800-1810. Decorated all over with this wonderfully rich Japan pattern inspired byJapanese Imari wares and porcelain produced by Meissen. Flight & Barr made this luxuriant and exotic design with brightly painted enamels and lavish and brilliant gilding. This pattern consists of a mix of Japanese Imari-inspired bright flowers, trees, birds, rocks, stars, a bridge, a pagoda and a fence in wonderfully clashing colours, beautifully painted and gilded with bold strokes. The panels are separated by dividing panels with "mons", the stylised Japanese chrysanthemum flowers that symbolise prosperity.

Condition: No damage or restoration. A very small amount of wear to the rim.
