A fine John Rose Coalport Porcelain Coffee Can and Saucer c.1805. The bute shape coffee can, decorated in the manner of the studio of Thomas Baxter with Roman figures, set against a richly detailed gilt seaweed ground. The design is further enhanced with a Greek key border on a peach and gold gilded ground, creating a striking and sophisticated classical aesthetic typical of early 19th century English porcelain.
Condition: Good with no damage or restoration, just some wear to the gilding on the saucer re-gilded.
