A rare Barr, Flight & Barr Worcester Porcelain Coffee Can and Saucer c.1805. Each piece finely painted in monochrome with a landscape view in the manner of John Pennington, all reserved on a cobalt blue ground, greek key pattern to the edge.
The landscape panels using dramatic lighting effects to emphasise the scale of somewhat imaginary ruins.
For a similar coffee can and saucer, probably from the same service, see: A Dictionary of Worcester Porcelain by John Sandon, p.260.
Possibly a view of Loch Awe after William Gilpin, 1792.
