A Spode Bone China Coffee Can decorated in pattern 1494 c.1809

A Spode Bone China Coffee Can c.1809 Richly decorated in pattern 1494 with an extremely ornate Imari design which covers every inch of the piece.  This pattern was introduced c1809 and was probably a direct copy of a Chinese/Japanese Imari original.  All hand-painted to most of its exterior & part of its interior as well together with loads of rich gilt work this was another elaborate & labour intensive design for Spode's wealthiest customers only.

Unmarked.

Condition: Excellent with no damage. Just a small amount of wear to the gilding around the rim.
