A very rare Spode bone china Bute shape teacup and saucer c.1805. Very finely decorated in pattern 775 with graduated gilded diamond shapes on a dark cobalt blue ground.
It was technically very difficult to accomplish these graduated diamond shapes with such precision!
Condition: A tiny patch of gilt loss to one gilt diamond on the front of the cup as shown. Some very minor wear to the gilding on the saucer. No cracks, chips, other damage or restoration.
