A superb Chamberlain Worcester porcelain basket c.1840. The rectangular shaped basket, raised on four feet and with a rustic twig style handle, the outer edge of the basket encrusted with beautifully modelled seashells seaweed and coral. The centre of the tray superbly painted with a matt blue ground and gilding framing a central panel painted with a very finely painted view of the Menai Bridge. Marked in red script to the reverse. 

After an original print by Henry Gastineau c.1830 of the Menai Bridge (From the Anglesey side) Uniting the Isle of Anglesey with Caernarvonshire.

The Menai Suspension Bridge is a suspension bridge spanning the Menai Strait between the island of Anglesey and the mainland of Wales. Designed by Thomas Telford and completed in 1826, it was the world's first major suspension bridge.

Condition: Fair - A few hairline cracks only visible from the underside; one mussel shell broken off; some other minor chips and losses. No restoration. 

Handle intact and no notable losses to the applied work. Slight wear to the gilding on the handle. All other gilding and enamels in good order
